SFALCI LEATHER WILL BURNISH AND PATINA WITH AGE.

Patina is the result of leather’s exposure to its natural environment. No two patinas are the same, and each is wholly dependent on the wearer’s relationship with their belt.

Where does sfalci leather come from?

Our leather is from bovine calfs raised in a historical region of Alsace, in northeastern France on the Rhine River.  Alsace is revered for the special care they take in the production of wines, cheeses, beef and veal, and, of course, leather.  The Alsace calfs are grown and slaughtered using ethical practices, and are used for their for their beef to supply restaurants and butchers around the region.  Our tannery purchases the hides directly from the farms after slaughter takes place.  The hides are salted, packed, and driven a short 40 minutes to the tannery where a delicate and transformative process begins.

*France beef is appreciated world wide, and its cattle is raised naturally, grazing in open pastures in moderate climates.
